About Ghost Reader

Ghost Reader is an iOS application developed by Potato Labs that converts documents into spoken audio using an on-device AI text-to-speech engine. It supports PDFs, EPUBs, web articles, Markdown files, and plain text.

Subscription

Access to Ghost Reader requires an active subscription purchased through the App Store.

• Free trial: New subscribers receive a 2-week free trial. The trial begins when you confirm the purchase through the App Store.
• Billing: After the trial period ends, your subscription renews monthly and payment is charged to your Apple ID.
• Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; you retain access until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Ghost Reader is licensed for personal, non-commercial use. You may use it to listen to documents you own or have the right to access. You may not:

• Use the app to reproduce or distribute copyrighted material without authorisation
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the AI model or other proprietary components
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Content you provide

All documents and content you open in Ghost Reader are processed entirely on your device. You retain full ownership of your documents. We do not receive, store, or have access to anything you load into the app.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you load into Ghost Reader.

Intellectual property

Ghost Reader, its name, icon, design, and on-device AI model are the property of Potato Labs. The app is licensed to you, not sold. This licence does not transfer any ownership of the software or its components.

Disclaimer of warranties

Ghost Reader is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, that narration quality will meet every expectation, or that the app will be available at all times. Your use is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Potato Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ghost Reader. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your current subscription period.

Changes to the app or these terms

We may update Ghost Reader or these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after a terms update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Potato Labs operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
