Common Questions
The app isn't generating audio
Make sure the model has finished loading — a spinner appears in the toolbar while it loads on first launch. If it seems stuck, try quitting and relaunching the app.
Voice cloning isn't working
For best results, use a clean audio sample between 5–30 seconds with a single speaker and minimal background noise. Supported formats: WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG.
The app is slow on my Mac
Potato Labs runs entirely on your CPU. Generation speed depends on your Mac model and the length of your text. Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) perform significantly faster than Intel Macs.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through the App Store. Open System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions to manage or cancel your subscription at any time.
Can I use Potato Labs offline?
Yes — completely. All models are bundled with the app and run locally on your Mac. No internet connection is ever required or used.
